this pretty much sums it all for what i want to say for business success.
btw.. if you think i missed ” the Best idea“, No i didn’t. Its good if you have an excellent idea, but doesn’t have to be a pre-requisite. Execution is the real deal.
A few added value for the care of your employees with a healthy dose of environmental consciousness makes some business sense: The initial costs have decreased much.
Gas = expensive
Electricity = short supply
Solar = hopefully free.

Bad days for an entrepreneur….
If i don’t know how much electricity i am going to get next week, or how much petrol i am going to get 2 days from now, then thats a big problem for development.
UNCERTAINTY.

Everyone is looking at another to see if there is anyone to lead them out of this stalemate in Nepal.
I.e constituent Assembly…
met a Non Resident Nepali dying to invest in the country (infact he already is). Just not finding enough forward moving business and politicians to move business ahead.
His family is doing a lot of big business abroad and dying to do more in Nepal. But most of his time is spent on trying to negotiate with politicians for stupid licences..
India’s licence raj is over.. Nepal’s is at its prime !!!
Some interesting tidbits after talking to a realestate/company registration lawyer in kathmandu:
a) if a foreigner investing in industries like tourism, trade, industry and real estate, they get 100% ownership . You will also own 100% ownership of even real estate in Nepal as a company only. Previously there was much barriers to a foreigner owning land in Nepal.
b) Good Legal counseling and government fees (for company registration,etc ) costs an one time cost of 1,000 to 2,000 US dollars (estimated).
c) usually the whole process takes around 1 month.
d) You can get a BUSINESS VISA for the whole year, if you register as a company. This visa only costs 100 dollars a year. A good way for a businessperson to stay in Nepal without Visa hassles.
e) Nepali Bureaucracy is lethargic but with the right legal counsel and help, you should have a easier time registering your company and on your way to get ownership of whatever you are looking for. I saw examples of a few Americans doing the same to buy lands and open houses/resorts in nepal.
