new-year_greetings1 (Read in English here)

Build a network of networks

I am building a network of networks. Why? I believe building this brings positive change in Nepal. How so ? Networks have always existed in our society in religious, communal, educational, age, education and uncountable other forms. Even big media is a network similar to political ones. Networks helps organize people to turn them into powerful forces that can demand & act and solve problems we as people find it impossible to do.

The problem is when there are too many networks operating independently, an anarchy ensues that impedes revolutionary change from happening. Because all networks are pushing for changes separately their personal push is not enough to swing the momentum, even if there are thousands of them.. Think of it, as us pushing a strong door one at a time. It will never open. There is not enough force. Even if thousand of us came and pushed one at a time, it wouldn’t. But together, if we pushed at the same time, it would be a different story, wouldn’t it.

And this immense power lies un-used because there aren’t any connectors who works to bind them together with a loose thin thread which is nudged at right times to give the catalytic

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Am I Superman ? Answering a cynic.

There is overwhelming sense of Cynics and cynicism all around #Nepal and beyond. Just check out in social media these days.

I define Cynics as fault-finders, who assume each of us have to become Superhuman, right from our first try, and who should never try unless we are 100% of our success. Cynicism is perhaps one of the worst traits you can possibly carry in  yourself. All of us have cynicism within ourselves which if we don’t control takes over our entire identity.

  1. A cynic expects change makers to act like Superman / superwoman.
  2. A cynic acts as if the change makers are paid handsomely for their volunteer work.
  3. A cynic assumes change makers should work non-stop like a machine or else …
  4. A cynic demands punishment for any one who fails at making the change.
  5. A cynic points only at the faults, and usually belittles successes as ‘luck’
  6. A cynic usually never provides alternative to the solution that s/he is attacking.

Cynics seem to imply that an ordinary person who wants to give some of their energies at organizing or campaigning on social change events, has to generate the magical power to transform into super-humans, and can keep this stamina for-ever and

Advise people after saying No

Wordle: whynepal advise

‘Don’t just say No. Advise them a little after you say No. That small bit of advise really helps people and as a side-effect may build relationships with them as well. Recently We had to say no, to a project that would helped a lot of people. And here is how we advised them (in an email) so that the project would succeed who-ever did it. (names changed of course).

Hello Raju,

It was good to meet you during your Briefing process two weeks ago. Unfortunately, our firm has decided not to apply for your website project at this time because we don’t have the time and the resources to dedicate to your proposed project at this time.
As a Nepali and concerned citizens I look forward to seeing a functional website of the ‘…………. authority’ of Nepal. I realize it is extremely important to strengthen our ‘…………. authority’ to make sure we produce better leadership in Nepal. Thank you for helping such an important entity in Nepal.
We
